Abnormal Muscle Builders
Those who are abnormal muscle builders are those who are obsessed with building muscles. They think they are smaller than they really are and feel a need to become bigger and stronger.
It's a
mental health condition, and it may be a form of eating disorder. It's a type
of body dysmorphic disorder. It occurs in both men and women, and it's thought
to be more common among weightlifters. It may also be a coping mechanism.
There are
many reasons why people lose muscle mass. Malnutrition, gastrointestinal disease,
chronic infection, and neurologic diseases are all possible causes. If you
suspect that you have a health condition, it's a good idea to talk with your
doctor.
There are
two types of muscular dystrophy: FSHD and Duchenne muscular dystrophy. FSHD
affects both sexes, usually starting in childhood, and typically affects the
face, hips, and shoulders. It's a progressive disease. Medications can slow
down its progression.
Those with
myotonia congenita have muscle stiffness and rigidity. They also have difficulty
relaxing their muscles after contracting them. It's typically caused by a
genetic defect in the myostatin gene.
Myostatin is
a protein that controls the growth of muscle fibers. It's also involved in
controlling tissue growth. Normally, myostatin blocks the growth of skeletal
muscle fibers. A genetic defect in the MSTN gene can cause it to not produce
enough of this protein, resulting in an uncontrolled growth of the muscle.
Myostatin-related
muscle hypertrophy is a rare condition. It's thought to occur due to a
deficiency of the MSTN gene. If a person has this genetic defect, they can have
up to double the amount of muscle mass that they have.
